Basecamp is all about what we are doing at the Alpine Journal and where we started.  Back in 1984, we were the Adirondack Alpine Journal. Now, we have broadened our horizons. Basecamp is a metaphor for coming back to our center ... to the beginning of our trip, ready for the next adventure.
