From June 14 to 19, 2022, the Chamonix Film Festival<\/em><\/a> will be welcoming all mountain lovers and enthusiasts to celebrate its culture and its cinema.\u00a0After a successful first edition last year, this new edition is eagerly awaited.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

W<\/span>hether in cinemas, in the mountains or in the valley’s base camps, lovers of the peaks will enjoy an original experience, which is at once visual, emotional and sensitive, like so many links that make up the spirit of adventure. From the 14th to the 19th of June, the Chamonix Film Festival<\/em><\/a> will welcome more than fifty guests passionate about the mountains to celebrate its culture and its cinema.<\/p>\n

For this second edition, rich in novelties, discoveries and encounters, 37 films are programmed during the 5 evenings in the Vox cinema in Chamonix. Many international directors (and mountaineers) will be on hand to present their films or their major achievements of the year (The Alpinist, Torn, The Snow Panther, Beyond the Summits, etc.). Everything that makes a festival diverse and rich! To begin with, we reveal the name of the festival’s patron, who is none other than Conrad Anker<\/strong>, renowned himalayist.<\/p>\n

Several prizes will be awarded at the closing ceremony (Grand Prize, Jury Prize, Narrative Prize, “B<\/em>y fair means<\/em>” Prize and the Audience Prize). The jury – representative of mountain adventure in all its forms – is composed of Eliza Kubarska<\/strong>, director, Julia Virat<\/strong>, mountain guide and navigator, C\u00e9dric Gras<\/strong>, writer, Steve Scott<\/strong>, co-director of the Kendal Mountain Festival<\/em><\/a>, H\u00e9lias Millerioux<\/strong>, mountain guide and alpinist, as well as Conrad Anker<\/strong>, the patron of the 2022 edition of the festival and one of the greatest American mountaineers.<\/p>\n

More than just a mountain film festival<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Chamonix Film Festival (CFF) is not just a film festival. It has other strings to its bow, other surprises to offer: conferences, meetings, photo-video workshops, and, of course, lot of mountains to climb!<\/p>\n

On the programm\u00a0for these 5 days, mountain photo training workshops with Alpine Mag photographers (Alpine Mag is the festival’s media partner<\/strong>), round-table discussions, afternoon conferences at the Maison des Artistes – Maurice Herzog’s former home! -, “brunches with…” at the Plan B Hotel…<\/p>\n

There is also going to be discoveries and learning, transforming imagination into reality. A high-altitude bivouac (at the Col du Midi, 3,600m), i.e. 24 hours in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif, with workshops led by Petzl team guides.<\/p>\n
